Birds of a feather

Ballston Spa’s birdhouses are truly something to TWEET about!

The following photo-essay is the second in a series of Village Vignettes by Paul Monaco.

Where the old railroad tracks once lay, the colorful, creative bird houses now stay.

April 25, 2020. In the wake of COVID-19, given our socially distanced, cloistered ways as of late, I had need to breathe fresh air and capture warm sun rays on my face today. My feet took me south along Bath Street past the old American Hide and Leather Company tannery, up the hill to turn west onto Front Street in the direction of The Old Iron Spring. Hold on. Let’s detour, instead, and climb some stairs to The Jim Tedisco Trail, named in honor of the former longtime New York State Assemblyman who now represents villagers in the NYS Senate. Where the old railroad tracks once lay, the colorful, creative bird houses now stay. Perhaps someday soon, we’ll all be able to flock together once more.
